It looks as though there will be another system approaching mid way through next week that has its energy from the tropics having been dragged from the gulf of Mexico by the jet stream. We need to keep a close eye on this as it looks to be depending all the time as it approaches and could take a direct land fall on the boarder between England and SCOTLAND. We will keep you updated as we get more information, but at the moment we expect the effects to be mainly rain which is likely to be heavy across the hole of the British isles and some strong winds of 60+mph are likely in Scotland and higher wind gusts at higher elevation.

Storm one is moving in as you read this. The centre should move over northern england and clear by Tuesday morning.
The pressure should be 996mb and stay that way through out. The main effects will be wind that could gust to 50+mph along the channel coast. There is the chance of some localized surface water.flooding near the centerfield, but the rain should stay mainly light and patchy. Although there are warnings out in the south on Friday, that storm is not expected to get above depression status. We have however designated.it as invest 90A as we are.keeping an eye on all the models very closely and are investigating it. There is only one model that strengthens.it before it leaves the uk and the others all suggest that it won't strengthen until it reaches main land Europe.
On Saturday night into Sunday we are watching an area.of.low pressure that.we are expecting to give the number 1 to as it is expected to be.much larger and centre over central England. The pressure is expected to be 996mb or below. The main issue with this will be wind as.the heavy rain will be confined to the center. The rain will be more wide spread. We.will keep you updated as.we.get.the information! |
