Valid until 1000 Fri 27th Feb Showers will turn increasingly to sleet and snow during thursd a y especially over higher ground, these will continue overnight and into tomorrow morning. As temps fall there will be the risk of icy stretches, these lasting into Friday morning. The public should be warned of the risk of some difficult driving conditions and the potential for some minor disruption.

UPDATED 1218 on Mon 23 February Valid from: 1500 on Mon 23 February to: 1200 on Tues 24 February West to Southwest winds will strengthen this evening and overnight, reaching severe gale force at times with widespread gusts of 50 to 60 mph in coastal areas in western Scotland and northern Northern Ireland, and perhaps reaching 70 mph in more exposed coastal locations. These winds will also lead to large waves and coupled with high spring tides could lead to overtopping and localised flooding in some coastal locations. The public should be aware of hazardous driving conditions and the risk of travel disruption, along with the risk of some localised coastal flooding. Rain is expected at lower levels across northern England and the southern half of Scotland, but further north snow falling to lower levels at times especially the far north and northeast of Scotland. Accumulations of 2 to 5 cm are expected in places above 150 m, with 10 cm or more over high ground above 300 m. Winds will gust to over 50 mph on coasts and hills, leading to drifting and blizzard conditions on high level routes. The public should be aware of difficult driving conditions and the risk of disruption to transport.
