Yellow warning for Ice & snow
Valid 1800 on Thu 31 Dec 2015 to 1200 on Fri 1 Jan 2016 Showers of rain, sleet and snow will lead to local accumulations on hills above 200-300 m, mainly over Scotland. They will ease during the night but will leave a risk of icy patches which lasts into New Year's Day. Please be aware of these wintry hazards. Yellow warning for rain Valid 1800 on Fri 1 Jan 2016 to 1500 on Sun 3 Jan 2016 An area of low pressure will bring spells of persistent and at times heavy rain through Friday and Saturday before weakening. Following a brief respite on Saturday night, a further frontal system will bring more rain to these same areas through Sunday morning before clearing away northeastwards during Sunday afternoon. Be aware that some local disruption from surface water and river flooding looks likely. Yellow warning for rain Valid 1200 on Sat 2 Jan 2016 to 1500 on Mon 4 Jan 2016 Outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, will affect Scotland during the weekend and into Monday. This rain is not expected to be as intense as recently, however the persistence of the rainfall will allow large accumulations to build up, particularly across eastern Scotland where ground remains saturated. Be aware of an increased risk of both surface and river flooding, as well as some local disruption to transport.
