YELLOW WARNING OF RAIN FOR PARTS OF EASTERN ENGLAND
Issued at 1021 on Mon 30 May 2016 Valid from 0015 on Tue 31 to 1200 on Tue 31 A band of rain, heavy and thundery in places, will spread westwards from the early hours of Tuesday morning. There is the risk that rain will turn torrential in places, with frequent lightning. Winds will also increase, with northerly gales on coasts. Whilst most places will miss the worst of the weather, please be aware of the risk of flash flooding. Issued at: 1014 on Sat 7 May 2016 Valid from 1400 on Sat 7 May 2016 to 2200 on Sat 7 May 2016 Whilst some places within this warning area will see a dry and very warm today with a good deal of hazy sunshine, there is a risk of isolated intense thunderstorms developing during the afternoon and evening. Please be aware that if these occur they are likely to be associated with torrential downpours as well as frequent lightning and hail leading to disruption to travel, outdoor activities and potentially flooding. Some very localised strong and gusty winds are also possible. The warning area has been moved further west compared to that issued on Friday, whilst there is now a lower likelihood of low impacts further west across Wales, so that warning has now been cancelled. Between the showers and rain some brighter spells with hazy sunshine are expected. These showers may be heavy with the potential for lightning and small hail. Please be aware of the potential for localised disruption to travel and outdoor activities.
