An area of rain is expected to push north across the UK through Saturday, becoming heavy at times across parts of Wales and northern England. The public are advised to be aware of the risk of disruption to travel due to localised surface water flooding. Valid from 0300 until 2345 on Saturday 2nd August 2014. YELLOW WARNING of RAIN An area of persistent and at times heavy rain will continue to move north across parts of northern England and Scotland. Winds will also increase, with the risk of gales over coasts and hills. The public should be aware of the risk of localised flooding and of disruption to transport. YELLOW WARNING for RAIN
Heavy thundery showers are expected across parts of East Anglia and southeast England, including the London area, at times on Monday. Isolated thundery downpours are now developing over East Anglia, extending further north into Norfolk, thus the extension to the warning area. These will become more widespread across East Anglia and southeast England by morning, dying out for a time later in the morning, before further isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms develop again in the afternoon. There is also a risk of heavy rain affecting the far southeast at times later today and into Monday night. The public should be aware of the risk of localised flooding, especially if the downpours affect urban areas. Valid 0310on Monday 28th July until 2345. YELLOW WARNING for RAIN for southwest England.
Heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop across parts of south west England during Thursday afternoon, eventually dying out again during the evening. These showers are likely to be slow-moving and very localised, hence most places will miss them. But where they do occur there is potential for some heavy rain and the public should be aware of the risk of some localised flooding. Valid on Thursday 24th July 1200 until 2100. These showers are likely to be slow-moving and very localised, hence most places will miss them. But where they do occur there is potential for some heavy rain and the public should be aware of the risk of some localised flooding. Valid on Thursday 24th July 1200 until 2100. Anglia(2) YELLOW WARNING of RAIN for north and east Scotland and eastern parts of England.
Heavy, thundery showers are likely to develop in eastern and northeastern parts of England through the morning before moving northwestwards into eastern Scotland later. Not everywhere will see a storm, but where they occur torrential downpours are possible with lightning, hail and locally strong wind gusts. The public should be aware of the risk of disruption from any of these elements. Valid from 0005 on Sunday 20th July until 2355 on Sunday 20th July. There are a few strong thunder storms about this evening in the following areas; North and Central London, St Albans, and the Suffolk coast.
