YELLOW EARLY WARNING of RAIN for Southern England Issued at: 2118 on Sat 20 June 2015 Valid from 0500 Monday 22nd of June to 2200 on Monday 22nd June. Though may places in the north of this region could stay dry, and a weather front will sit in the channel on Monday and is expected to occasionally bring some of its moisture into southern Britain at times. The closer to the channel you are the more intense the rain is likely to be, with the possibility of some hail and thunder mixed in at times. Those areas that escape morning rain could spark of some afternoon thunder storms as the air flow is of a warm moist origin. The public should be aware of the risk of localised surface water flooding, as well as lighting strikes and the possibility for large hail. update as of 2106 on Sunday 21st June 2015 There is the chance that these showers and longer spells of rain will stay well clear of the uk now as the weather front is expected to sit over the near continent. Please note that this will increase the likely hood of thundery showers developing in the late afternoon and early evening. The effects are the same as high lighted before. there is still the chance that the front will sit in the channel however that chance is dissipating every time the models are run. We will keep you updated if the situation changes. YELLOW WARNING of RAIN for parts of Wales and southern England
