SCOTLAND (1) YELLOW WARNING OF RAIN for parts of northeastern Scotland
Updated 6 July at 11:07 Valid from 14:00 on 7 July to 20:00 on 7 July Scattered showers are expected to develop across Scotland during Tuesday afternoon with some of these becoming heavy and thundery. The showers are likely to be slow-moving across northeast Scotland and as a result there is the potential for large rainfall accumulations here in a short period of time. Whilst many places could miss the showers the public should be aware of the risk of localised flooding and difficult driving conditions in any surface water. Isolated heavy, and possibly severe, thunderstorms are expected to develop on Friday evening across parts of England and Wales. These are likely to become more frequent later and spread northwards towards southern Scotland. Some torrential downpours are possible leading to localised surface water flooding, with large hail and frequent lightning also possible hazards.
