Issued at 11:29 on Monday 29 February Valid from 17:00 to 22:00 on Monday 29 February Rain, spreading from the west, will fall as snow on ground above 200-300 metres for a time on Monday evening, giving a risk of temporary snowfall accumulations of 1 to 2cm and perhaps up to 5cm over high ground above 400 metres. There will also be a risk of patchy ice where rain, sleet and snow fall on frozen surfaces. Be aware that some localised travel disruption is likely, mainly over high level routes of north Wales and northern England. YELLOW WARNING OF RAIN for southwest Scotland Issued at 11:36 on Monday 29 February Valid from 20:00 on Monday 29 February to 09:00 on Tuesday 1 March An area of occasionally heavy rain, preceded by snow above around 300 metres, will push across western Scotland from mid-evening, which eventually clears to showers towards dawn Tuesday morning. Some places will see rain or sleet rather than snow, but at least for some of the higher ground, and more locally at lower elevations, accumulations of 2-5 cm of snow are possible, which could fall within 2-3 hours.
