There are currently flood warnings in force in the following regions;
SOUTHWEST (1) YELLOW WARNING of FOG for parts of SOUTHERN ENGLAND and WALES
Updated at 05:25 on Sun 20 Sep Valid from 05:30 on Sun 20 Sep Valid until 10:00 on Sun 20 Sep Fog will become fairly widespread and locally dense at first this morning across southern parts of England, the southwest Midlands and into southeast Wales. Visibility will be reduced to 50 to 100 metres in places, leading to difficult driving conditions. The fog will gradually thin and lift into low cloud through the morning. Updated 16 September at 1045 Valid from 1100 on Wednesday 16 September to 0700 on Thursday Persistent and at times heavy rain is expected to spread from south to north during Wednesday, this affecting parts of SE Wales and much of southern, southeastern and central England. Some heavy and thundery showers could also develop across East Anglia and southeast England during the afternoon. Rain should ease from the southwest later on Wednesday, but will persist across the north and east of the warning area overnight before finally clearing from the east early Thursday morning. Some localised flooding is possible from fast responding water courses, small rivers and standing water, this perhaps disrupting travel. Lightning associated with the afternoon showers across East Anglia and SE England will be an additional hazard. Updated 15 September at 1200 Valid from 0800 on Wednesday 16 September to 0900 on Thursday Persistent and at times heavy rain is expected to spread from south to north during Wednesday, this affecting much of England and Wales. Some heavy and thundery showers could also develop across East Anglia and southeast England during the afternoon. Strong and gusty winds are also expected, with gales in exposure. Rain should ease from the southwest later on Wednesday, but will persist across the north of the warning area into Thursday. Some localised flooding is possible from fast responding water courses and standing water, this perhaps disrupting travel. Lightning associated with the afternoon showers across East Anglia and SE England will be an additional hazard. YELLOW WARNING of WIND for south Wales, southwest England and southeast England.
Issued at: 2103 on Sunday 13th September 2015 Valid from: 0500 on Monday 14th September 2015 to: 2000 on Monday 14th September 2015 Westerly gales will start to affect the Isles of Scilly and the far south of Cornwall early on Monday morning, before moving further north and east across other parts of southwest England and southern coastal counties during the rest of the day, perhaps also running up the Bristol Channel to clip the far south of Wales. Gusts of 45-55 mph are likely in some places, perhaps touching 60 to 65 mph across exposed coasts and hills. Given that this is one of the first gales of the autumn, the public should be aware of the risk of localised disruption, possibly affecting travel and late holiday activities. YELLOW WARNING of WIND for south Wales, southwest England and southeast England.

Valid: From 1800 Friday to 1400 Saturday Issued: 1016 on Friday 11th September Outbreaks of rain will spread eastwards across Northern Ireland later on Friday, probably turning persistent and heavy in places during Friday evening and into Saturday before clearing from the west. The public should be aware of the potential for disruption due to flooding and hazardous driving conditions. This is an update to the warning issued on Thursday. |
